Gorey Tennis Club Joe Hendley Tournament

The annual Joe Hendley Tournament for Juniors was held in Gorey Tennis Club last week. There was a great turn out for the tournament and all games were hotly contested. The final was won by Billy Dunne who beat Conor Berney. The Club would like to thank Eileen Hendley who presented the prizes and to Helyn Reddy for organising the competition and refreshments afterwards.

All Ireland Gorey Community Games U13 Tennis Finals

The U13's All Ireland Tennis finals for Community Games were held in Gormanstown last Sunday. In the finals a team from Gorey played Cork. Play continued despite the dreadful rain with the courts being swept to make them playable. The team from Gorey all played well but were beaten in the end by Cork. Representing Gorey were Michelle Dunne, Aoife Crowe, Kevin Harrington, Christopher Smith, Ann Reddy and Conor Berney.
