Joe Hendley Tennis Tournament |
 Joe Hendley loved tennis from his school days in Enniscorthy, where he was a member of Enniscorthy Tennis Club.
When he moved to Gorey in the mid 70's he became a member of Gorey Tennis Club and subsequently joined the Management Committee. He was involved with the Committee for many years up to his death in 1990 and during some of these years was Chairman of the Committee.
He coached teams for the Community Games for several years and always loved working with these young people. That is why following his death I decided to put up a perpetual trophy in his name, thereby keeping his name alive in the club.
He would be very proud to see how successful the Club is now, it is a great achievement to the many people who give their time and effort for the sake of the sport.
This tournament is open to all childrend upto 10yrs of age.
